Mariam A. Nawabi, born in Kabul, Afghanistan, is an attorney, social entrepreneur and journalist active in bettering the lives of Afghan women. Her family fled their homeland after the invasion of Russia, and she has worked diligently to bring prosperity back to her country. Nawabi founded Artizan Sarai,, an online portal to the ancient silk road that features the handiwork of artisans in economically disadvantaged areas of the world.
